X-10 CP290 Controller Software
Those old CP290 controllers are still around and functional. I have a couple that I use to turn the Christmas lites on and off without going outside in the cold. They work great!
Here are a few DOS and Windows programs that I have tried out with various results as noted below.
If you have one of these X-10 CP290 boxes, you know that it can be connected to a PC via a serial port. Oh, those crazy serial ports! Well, that's how they did it in the old days. Hey, these boxes go back to the 1980's. The serial port can be a problem child with windows. Today, everything is connected via the USB port which is such a nice plug-n-play invention.
Well, it is what it is and here are the free programs that may or may-not work. Have fun.
